CIT’s junior star player Tallo declared out of danger after Saturday’s accident

Cebu Daily News

CEBU Institute of Technology junior star player Mark Jayven Tallo has been declared out of danger by attending physicians at the Chong Hua Hospital where he was admitted after he lost consciousness Saturday night when he hit his head hard on the floor while playing in the Partners Cup.

Tallo's father Mark, who once played in the PBA, said they were relieved when the CT scan performed on the young Tallo turned out negative for any internal injuries.

?Lipay kaayo mi kay negative and CT scan ni Mac-Mac, at least makatog nami ani. Pero under observation pa siya kay naay daku nga bukol sa right side sa iyang ulo,? (We were so happy with the CT scan results which showed that Mac-Mac had no internal injuries. Now we can sleep. But he is still under observation because of a huge bump on the right side of his head), Tallo told CDN.

The young Tallo reportedly slipped while back-pedaling during the CIT-UV semifinals game. He hit his head hard on the floor and lost consciousness. A few seconds later he convulsed.

Mark Jayven has been touted as one of Cebu's most exciting and talented junior basketball players. He proved this when he snared the MVP trophy in the CESAFI and in the RP Jr. NBA last year. The latter feat earned him a trip to the United Sates where he met his NBA idols.

Though he is now declared out of danger, the CIT high school junior was told to rest for at least one month. /RCG
