Filipino Z "The Dream" Gorres, who is training at Freddie Roach's Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles, is reportedly looking good in sparring.

Gorres trainer Edito Villamor said the ALA Boy pug has now racked up some 36 rounds of sparring against a Mexican and Scottish sparring partner.

Gorres will take on dangerous Colombian Luis Melendez in the main event of the Nov. 13 card at the Mandalay Bay House of Blues in Las Vegas on the eve of the Manny Pacquiao-Miguel Cotto superfight.

Also in that card are Filipinos Mark Jason Melligen and Rodolfo Sumabong, who will take on separate opponents.

Trainer Villamor indicated that Team Gorres is slated to travel from Los Angeles to Las Vegas a week before the fight, and will be joined by the fighter's manager Michael Aldeguer and ALA Gym's Dennis Canete.

If successful against Melendez, Bob Arum of Top Rank had earlier indicated he wants to put Gorres in the next "Pinoy Power" card slated for February 13 at the Las Vegas Hilton possibly against Fernando Montiel. Also set to see action in that card are Gerry Penalosa and Nonito Donaire Jr, who will take on different opponents.
