ABOUT 200 golfers will be seeing action in the two-day 1st Lapu-Lapu Fiesta Cup 2009, which tees off today at 5:45 a.m. at the Mactan Island Golf Club inside the Mactan Benito Ebuen Airbase in Lapu-Lapu City.

This 36-hole event will be contested by teams to be comprised of two players who will be playing using the best ball scramble today and the alternate stroke tomorrow.

Tee off schedule will be from 5:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Divisions to be contested are A, B, C and D for men. Division A will have an average handicap of 0-12, division B (13-19), C (20-24) and D (25 and above). A ladies division championship title will also be up for grabs.

A team comprised of a man and woman would have to play in the men's division.

Hole-in-One prizes up for grabs will be a Honda City, a motorcycle and a set of Honma irons. Division winners will be getting trophies and merchandise.

The tournament, which is also open to golfers from outside Cebu, is one of the activities lined up to the fiesta celebration of Lapu-Lapu City in honor of the Lady of Rule.

Tournament fee is pegged at P2,500 per person or P5,000 per team.

Awarding ceremony will be tomorrow about 6 p.m. in PAGCOR Mactan.
