THE TANDEM of Alex Yeo and Kim Kwang Seok ruled the 1st Lapu-Lapu City Fiesta Cup after they grabbed the Class A title in the men's division by taming the greens of the Mactan Island Golf Club inside the Mactan Benito Ebuen Airbase in Lapu-Lapu City.

Yeo and Seok fired a score of 60 during the first day's best ball scramble and 66 in the second day's alternate stroke for a total of 126 points.

Finishing three points adrift with 129 was the pair of Nestor Cabrera and Clifford Gaite who went home with the runner-up honors.

Cabrera and Gaite had tied Yeo and Seok's day 1 score of 60 but a round of 69 on the final day of competition placed them behind.

Class B title went to the duo of Ben Gelbolingo and lawyer Rico Tautho who had a total net of 120 after firing rounds of 57 and 63 points.

Jun-Jun Osmena found harmony with partner Danny de la Cruz to bag the Class C title with round scores of 52 and 71 for a total net points of 123.

In Class D, the duo of Fred Chiong and Ike Yap played perfect round scores of 59 and 67 to net a total of 126 points and claim the title.

The Ladies division title went to the Vasandani pair of Juily and Rachita whose rounds of 62 and 66 gave them a net total of 128 points.

Overall lowest net went to the pair of Sgt. Cesar Sobrevega and Masaru Naganuma who combined for 119 points after firing rounds of 59 and 60 points.

Overall lowest gross honors was bagged by the duo of Yoshio Yamane and Jun-Jun Cabajar. They had round scores of 66 and 74 for a total net of 140 points.

The tournament was organized by the Mactan Island Golf Club and the city of Lapu-Lapu as one of the activities of the upcoming fiesta celebration of the city in honor of its patron the Lady of Rule.
