ONE-HUNDRED TWENTY FOUR referees, including 24 Filipinos, will participate in the Philippine Taekwondo Association’s Smart world taekwondo referee seminar and refresher course starting today at the Diamond Hotel in Manila.

World Taekwondo Federation’s Kisam Kim, Myung Ok Yu and Zhao Lei will conduct the seminar, according to PTA head Robert Aventajado.

The four-day event will also prepare the referees for the 2010 Youth Olympic Games and the 2012 London Olympics.

“This is a big boost for local taekwondo because our athletes will get to know immediately the new rules covering the sport,” said Aventajado.
