HK stint for wushu bets

MANILA, Philippines?Willy Wang spearheads the Philippine squad that will compete in the 8th Hong Kong International Wushu Festival starting Thursday.

Wang, who won the gold when wushu was held as a special competition in the Beijing Olympics, and his teammates from the Willy Wang Wushu Center are vying under the banner of the Philippine Wushu Association.

About 25,000 athletes joined the festival?s first seven editions which staked a total of 100 million yuan (P590 million) in cash prizes.

The four-day event organized by the HK International Wushu and the Chinese Wushu Association drew about 7,000 martial arts participants from over 50 countries this year. Romina S. Austria
