ALREADY SHOWING skills beyond his years, Jaz Monzones takes his act to the 2009 CIK-FIA World Karting Championship in Macau from Oct. 7 to 11 at the Kartodromo de Coloane Circuit.
The 10-year-old Monzones, a stalwart of the GP1 Racing Team, is out to make his mark in the Mini-ROK division of the Asian Karting Open Championship.
Monzones has shown immense potential, posting a runner-up finish in the Magnolia Karting race in Boomland recently. He proved his worth last year by ending up second overall behind Christian Gaddi in the Cadet class of the national series.
Despite moving up to a tougher class this year, Monzones has flashed fine form by holding third overall in the Mini-ROK division of the ongoing Magnolia Pure Water Karting Super Series.
?The important thing for me is the rare experience of competing against the world?s best,? said Monzones, a fourth grade student of La Salle-Canlubang, who is backed by www.natmoasia.-com, Casi-miro Development Corp. and www.activephilippines.com.
