Young karter Jette Calderon added another feather to his cap as he captured the championship in the Expert class of the KT100 division of the 2009 Kartzone Superkart Series last weekend at the Kartzone in brgy. Panagdait, Mabolo.

The 12-year old 7th grader from PAREF Springdale, was once again in a class of his own, as he bested racers from the Masters and Novice division in the mixed-grid final heat. Calderon was unstoppable in the previous two heats where he finished in first place as well.

Calderon finished the 20-lap race with a time of 9 minutes, 20.684 seconds, a full three seconds away from his closest pursuer, Patrick Gandionco, who finished in second place. JT Gullas placed third. Calderon also logged in the fastest lap time with a best time of 27.799 seconds.

Calderon is coming off a marvelous stint abroad last month as he braved the hostile competition and the unfavorable race conditions to come away with the championship in the ROK Junior category of the 2009 Macau International Kart Grand Prix 46th CIK-FIA World Championship.

Daniel Miranda won the Novice class with Joseph Rojo and Sean Velasco finishing in second and third place, respectively. The Masters class title was brought home by Lord Seno while Blake Go and Stephan Reroma were the runners-up.
