Sibayan, Delos Santos top 10k open

Angelito Sibayan and Mary Grace delos Santos dominated the 10k open division of the DyAB Abante Bisaya "Kapamilya Run 2009" yesterday at the Sumilon Road in the Cebu Business Park.

Sibayan won the 10k men’s open after clocking 32:54.0. Last year’s winner Elmer Bartolo settled for second place with a time of 33:31.0 while Eugene Delposo finished third with a time of 33:43.0

Delos Santos of Zamboanga City continued her winning ways in Cebu, topping the women’s 10k open after clocking 38:35.0. Cebu’s running sensation Madelyn Carter wound up second (42:13.0) while Joeyry Lee took the third spot (45:25).

Triatlhete Nonoy Jopson, meanwhile, dominated the 10k executive A with a time of 39:15.0 followed by Bon Brandon clocking 41:50.

In the 10 k executive B, Robert Daang emerged on top after clocking 36:16 followed by Ricky Abalayan (38:27.00) and Jesie Misa (39:06.0).

On the other hand, Mischelle Gilbuena and Joel Delposo ruled the 5k women and men’s open, respectively/

Gilbuena ruled the women’s 5k open after clocking 20:55 followed by Vlessica Jagna (21:27.0.0) and Haziel Retavale (21:50.0).

The men’s open was won by Delposo, who finished with a time of 16:40. Jess Gonzaga trailed closely with a time of 16:54 while Miljone Luterte clocked 17:18 to settle for third.

In the 3k boys 12-under, Prince Joey Lee clocked 12:04 to emerge victorious while Marlon Beboso timed 12:37 to finish second. Rozel Ardiente secured the third spot with a time of 13:04.0.

In the 3k girls 12-under, Diongson sisters secured the top two spot with Crizel taking the lead after clocking 13:38 while Clarisse finishing second with 13:47. Love Fe Andrin took the third spot with a time of 14:12.

A total of 1,230 runners participated in this year's run, which is one of the highlights of DyAB’s 14th anniversary. The proceeds of the race will go to the Bantay Bata 163 foundation.
