Philippine Daily Inquirer

THE BUSY RUNNING SEASON of 2009 marks another chapter with the staging of the maiden Timex Run on Nov. 15 at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

A slew of celebrities, including actor Piolo Pascual, are expected to join the races, which will have 3K, 5K, 10K and 21K events, organizer Rio Dela Cruz said at the PSA Forum at Shakey?s UN Avenue yesterday.

The races supported by Robinsons Land Corp. dangles P6,000 each for the champions of the centerpiece 21K event, aside from gift certificates from Nike and Timex.

Avi Uttamchadani, GM of Timex country distributor Newtrends International, who appeared at the forum with Robinsons Land executives Belle Austria and Tess Miranda, said they will consider adding more distances, depending on the result of the races, next year.

Part of the proceeds for the event will benefit the Timex Unicef School in Masbate.

The 21K route will pass through Ayala Avenue and Heritage Park.
