MANILA, Philippines--The chase for the top four semifinal spots begins Sunday with Far Eastern University seeking to bring a promising elimination-round spell and San Sebastian hoping to redeem itself in the quarterfinals of the Shakey's V-League Season 6.

Following the San Sebastian conquest of the University of Santo Tomas, the Lady Tamaraws automatically earned second place on the strength of a 6-1 record and will carry the inspiring elimination finish against Ateneo-OraCare Sunday at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

The Lady Stags face the Adamson Lady Falcons in the 4 p.m. mainer with the 11-25, 10-25, 15-25 debacle against the Tigresses that pulled them to a third-running 5-2 card on Friday still fresh on their minds.

The reigning five-time NCAA champions were a pitiful sight that night as no other Lady Stag scored more than four points except for Elaine Cruz's five hits that made it relatively easy for the unbeaten Tigresses to notch a seventh straight victory.

Although the Lady Stags are anxious to recover from that embarrassing blow, the Falcons are equally determined to vindicate themselves from a stunning defeat against the Lady Eagles on Friday.

It was the first time in eight games that the Eagles had pulled a victory over the Falcons, who took the first two sets in domineering fashion before giving away the last three frames.
