MANILA, Philippines - Four members of the Mount Everest team headed by Andrew Chinalpan will lead 154 runners for the Earth Day ultramarathon tomorrow (April 22).

Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Special Concerns Office director Billy Ragos said the event is not a race but as an advocacy for the environment.

?The run will highlight the three major bodies of water that we need to clean up - Laguna de Bay, Pasig River, and Manila Bay,? Ragos told INQUIRER.net via telephone

The runners will start gathering 5:30 am at the C6 bridge, which serves as the boundary between Pasig and Taguig.

They will then pass by the Pasig River, Makati, Manila and end at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

Contingents from the Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine National Police, Philippine Air Force, and Victoria Group of Companies will also be joining the runners, according to Ragos.
