THE TOUR DE CAGAYAN, a 746-km bicycle race that will traverse the challenging northeast side of Luzon, will kick off at the Ynares Sports Center in Pasig City today.

With a total of P1.3 million in cash prizes at stake, an elite selection of 70 cyclists, who have passed two previous pre-qualifying tournaments, will race from Metro Manila to the northern tip of Luzon in Cagayan during a gruelling five-day competition, organized by the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA) in cooperation with the Cycling Organizers Association of the Philippines (COAP).

The five-lap race will start in Pasig City and pass through Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Nueva Vizcaya, and Isabela, before hitting the finish line on May 14 in Sta. Ana, Cagayan.
