MANILA, Philippines - The Manny Pacquiao Cup and the most prestigious award in the cockfighting world, the National Cockers Alliance (NCA) Cocker of the Year Award, are at stake in the NCA World Championship Derby at the Ynares Center in Pasig City.

The leaders for the Pacquiao Cup are Sagupaan Complexor 3000 of Patrick ?Idol? Antonio, Scorpio of Ricky Valencia and Thunder Cock of Lolong Herrera. All four entries have posted four previous wins.

Closely behind them is Wildwing Sundance II of Sec. Ronnie Puno and Usec. Danny Valero. Their entry has 3.5 wins.

In the race for NCA Cocker of the Year, the favorite is the team of Ruel Ricafort and Mario Villamor and perennial favorites Patrick Antonio and Bebot Uy.

The World Championship Derby will be followed by the much-anticipated NCA Big Event on May 28. This derby promises to be the biggest meeting of the toughest and most experienced cockers in the country.
