Olympic champs due for FDG/Partners Cup

MANILA, Philippines—The South Korean National team will showcase its talent and skills before local fans as it competes in the sixth FDG/Partners Cup Invitational Badminton tournament on June 6 at the Yonex Badminton courts at the Liberty Center.

Led by the world No. 2 and Beijing Olympics mixed doubles champions Lee Yong-dae and Lee Hyo-jung, the crack Korean squad will play a series of exhibition games with the country’s top players in the FDG Cup.

The 28-player Korean contingent also includes members of the team that captured the silver medal in the recent Sudirman Cup in Guangzhou, China.

The FDG Cup is held in honor of Frederick Go, president of Robinsons Land.

Meanwhile, a banner field of 184 players will clash for top honors in various divisions in the Partners Cup side of the event also staged to foster camaraderie among the management and staff of Robinsons Land Corp.
