MANILA, Philippines - Delight for Rubilen Amit. Despair for young Gillian Go.

Amit bundled out Julie Kelly of Ireland, 8-4, Friday to emerge as the last Filipino standing in the 2009 JBETpoker.net Women?s World 10-Ball Championship, after Go was shown the door by world No. 5 Cha Yu-ram at SM North Edsa in Quezon City.

Go was unable to sustain her impressive start and bowed to the Korean, 3-8, for the second time in the tournament.

Leading 3-2, Go squandered winning positions, allowing Cha to take the next six racks and eliminate the 11-year-old sensation, who was making her international debut, in the round of 32.

Amit, who was hardly troubled by Kelly as she arranged a last 16 encounter with unbeaten No.4 seed Tan Hsiang-ling of Chinese-Taipei, predicted bigger things for Go, an incoming sixth grader at Jubilee Christian Academy in Quezon City.

?She?s still young but she already makes difficult shots,? the 27-year-old Amit said of Go, who wrapped up her first international campaign with three wins and three defeats. ?I?m sure if she puts her heart into it, she?ll go places,?

Cha, 18, who also beat Go, 5-2, in the preliminary round, will play third seed Allison Fisher of England for a place in the quarterfinals.

Karen Corr of Ireland took the first seat in the last eight after coming back from 0-3 down to oust Korean Lim Yun-mi, 8-6.

Charlene Chai of Singapore posted the biggest upset of the day when she stunned former world no.1 Kim Ga-young of Korea, 8-6, to earn the right to face No.7 Liu Shin-mei of Chinese-Taipei in the next round.

Also entering the last 16 was World Games gold medalist Jasmin Ouschan of Austria, who eliminated qualifier Angeline Ticoalu of Indonesia, 8-3, to earn the right to meet Japan?s Miyuki Fuke.

Taiwanese Chou Chieh-yu outplayed Aspra Punhoo of South Africa, 8-3, to make the next round opposite world No.1 Kelly Fisher of England, while Tamara Rademakers of the Netherlands upended Veronika Hubrtova of Czech Republic, 8-5, to gain a last 16 meeting with No.6 Jeanette ?The Black Widow? Lee.
