SILVERSTONE - Brazilian Felipe Massa said on Sunday he was satisfied and happy with the improvements in Ferrari's performance after finishing fourth at the British Grand Prix.
"I put a lot of effort in the race and if I am honest I must say I didn't expect to finish fourth," said the 28-year-old.
"It was a great result and I am very happy with that and proud of myself. I am proud too of the team and the strategy we did, everyone did a fantastic job and we had a lot of free track most of the time.
"That let me push and I think it was a very great job by the team. We need to carry on like this."
He said he did not expect to be able to mount a championship challenge to leader Briton Jenson Button but would do his best.
"For me it is fantastic here to see the passion of the British fans, it is like Monza or Brazil."
