Kiamco, Django keep RP bid alive in 10-ball tilt
Former double world champion Ronato ?Volcano? Alcano defeated countryman Roberto ?Pinoy Superman? Gomez in their hot-seat match to take the first finals berth in the 8-ball competition of the Galveston World Classic on Saturday at the Moody Gardens Hotel and Convention Center in Galveston, Texas, USA.
Gomez, though still has a chance for a finals seat as he is set to face former World 9-ball ruler Johnny ?The Scorpion? Archer in the loser?s bracket.
If Gomez beats Archer, he will get another crack against Alcano for the 8-ball title.
In the 10-ball competition, Warren ?Warrior? Kiamco and Francisco ?Django? Bustamante stayed in contention in the one-loss side after surviving separate foes.
Kiamco, who hails from Pasil, Cebu, outplayed compatriot Efren ?Bata? Reyes, winner of the One Pocket Division, and Johnny Archer of the United States, respectively.
Bustamante, on the other hand, drubbed countryman Alex ?the Lion? Pagulayan and Shane ?The South Dakota Kid? Van Boening of the United States.
