SILANG, CAVITE? Tonlits Asistio fired a two-under-par 69 Tuesday to set the pace after the first round of the NGAP?s RP Team qualifying for the Southeast Asian Games team at the Riviera?s Langer course here.

The 20-year-old chipped in for a birdie from the fringe on No. 1 and then gunned down a 30-foot putt for another birdie on the 18th to highlight his solid round.

Asistio led Jonel Ababa by a shot in the four-round event that will determine four more members of the RP squad.

Marcel Puyat, who made it as far as the third round of this year?s US Amateur, has been seeded into the team.

Asistio and Ababa were in the same flight as United States-based Judson Eustaquio, who shot a 72 to lay three behind, like Alvin Engino.

Peter Villaber lay in third spot after a 71, two better than Mark Fernando.
