Philippine Daily Inquirer

MANILA, Philippines—The country’s latest tennis darling Anna Christine Patrimonio and the returning Maricris Fernandez gear up for a tough grind when the Holcim/ITF Women’s Circuit Week 1 kicks off next week four international tournaments slated in the country.

Matches in the main draw of the Holcim/ITF tournament starts on Nov. 10 with the qualifying round scheduled on Nov. 8 and 9 at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center in Manila.

Patrimonio, the charming 17-year-old daughter of PBA legend Alvin, and the 30-year-old Fernandez, the 1998 champion who recently came out of retirement, join Riza Zalameda as the country’s wild-card entries.

Another player will be named later to complete the four wild-card berths awarded to the country in the championships sanctioned by the International Tennis Federation. Jasmine W. Payo
