TWO HIGHLY COMPETITIVE EVENTS ARE in store for watersports enthusiasts this weekend at the Subic Bay Freeport.

The Subic Bay Yacht Club, in cooperation with the Smart Infinity, is hosting this year?s SBYC Fun Fishing Tournament tomorrow at the SBYC Causeway area.

Also scheduled is the Andres Bonifacio Sailing Regatta on Saturday and Sunday with at least 10 yachts and over 150 sailors from Puerto Galera, Manila and Subic seeing action.

The fishing tournament is expected to draw 150 anglers since the SBYC is considered as one of the largest fish sanctuaries in the region and breeding ground for vast species of tropical marine life.

Winners will receive about P50,000 worth of prizes including gift items from sponsors.

Registration fee is P500. The tournament, also backed by Chris Sports, Highlife Business Mirror and Rogue Magazine, fires off at 7 a.m.

The activities, co-organized by Saturday Afternoon Gentlemen?s Sailing and held in cooperation with SBYC commodore Federico ?Ricky? Sandoval II, hope to promote Subic as a prime venue for sailing events.
