RP Land Rover team forges strong finish

TEAM LAND ROVER PHILIPPINES continued to prove its worth in the international 4x4 -road circuit with another creditable performance in the Malaysian Rainforest Challenge recently.

The duo of Larry Mendiola and Sergio Jamila finished eighth in the Johor Rainforest Challenge in a 38-team field topped by Malaysia?s Loo Fu Siong and Edward Benggon. The other RP tandem of Dennis and JB Javier wound up at 15th place.

Mendiola, a four-time Driver of the Year (4x4 category) awardee of the Automobile Association of the Philippines, and Jamila also placed first runner-up in the above 3,000 cc category.

The teams toughened up for the event, dubbed as the Formula 1 of off-road racing, by participating in the China-Sanya race, Robby Cosunji, consultant-coordinator of Team Land Rover said.

?Our teams just found ways to finish the race,? Cosunji said.
