MANILA, Philippines?Familiar names from Kenya dominated two separate races Sunday while local female runners took the spotlight in the absence of foreign competition.

Kember Kimberess topped the centerpiece 21K event while Willy Tanui barely escaped with the 15K plum in the Globe Run for Home which covered the Makati Business District and Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City.

Over at the Mall of Asia grounds in Pasay City, David Kipsang bagged his second Philippine win in The Green Miles run sponsored by the University of Santo Tomas High School Batch 1988.

Local runners ruled all female races.

The 23-year-old Kimberess clocked one hour and 12 minutes to beat Elmer Sabal (1:17:30) and Regie Lumaug (1:30:00) and take home P15,000. The runners-up bagged P10,000 and P7,000, respectively.
