Tiu pulls off double win in drag racing

MANILA, Philippines?Jonathan Tiu of JCT-Blanch Racing boosted his bid for a record seventh straight crown with a double victory in the third leg of the 2010 Magnolia Purewater National Drag Racing Championship Series at the Batangas Racing Circuit Drag Strip.

Tiu reigned supreme in the premiere pro class and the Quick 8 divisions.

Driving a Mitsubishi Evo 5, Tiu proved too fast for teammate Anthony Go in the pro class finals. The win proved crucial for Tiu as he pulled within five points of Go, who has 35 points, in the championship race.

Tiu resumes his chase for the record in the next leg on April 17. Cedelf P. Tupas
