Formula One: Bianchi brain injury severe, says family

Jules Bianchi is suffering from a serious brain injury sustained in his sickening crash at the Japanese Grand Prix, his family says, as specialists warn the chances of recovery from this kind of condition are slim.

Woman murdered after Colombia World Cup victory—mayor

Officials said a 25-year-old woman was murdered Saturday in Bogota following Colombia’s World Cup win over Uruguay in what they initially said was an accident caused by a stray bullet fired in celebration.

Two killed in avalanche at Sochi Olympic ski resort

There has been a “slight improvement” in Michael Schumacher’s condition, a source close to the Formula One legend said on Monday, eight days after a skiing accident left him with life-threatening injuries.
