Woman murdered after Colombia World Cup victory—mayor

Officials said a 25-year-old woman was murdered Saturday in Bogota following Colombia’s World Cup win over Uruguay in what they initially said was an accident caused by a stray bullet fired in celebration.

Two killed in avalanche at Sochi Olympic ski resort

Russian authorities on Monday declared an avalanche warning for the mountain resort used to host the Sochi Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games events, after an avalanche killed two women in the area at the weekend.

‘Slight improvement’ in Schumacher’s condition—source

There has been a “slight improvement” in Michael Schumacher’s condition, a source close to the Formula One legend said on Monday, eight days after a skiing accident left him with life-threatening injuries.
