LeBron James fired back at Serge Ibaka, calling him “stupid” after the Oklahoma City forward said people were giving James too much credit in the NBA finals for his defensive play.

UN monitors flee Syrian protest after gunfire

Syrian security forces opened fire Wednesday on anti-regime demonstrators surrounding the cars of a UN team meant to monitor a shaky cease-fire, sending the observers speeding off and protesters dashing for cover, according to activists and amateur videos.

NBA games in jeopardy as talks stretch into overtime

NBA clubs owners and players resumed talks on a new contract and negotiated for more than 10 hours on Wednesday as the prospect loomed of more games being wiped off the 2011-2012 schedule.
