JAPETH Aguilar gave some justice to the hype that surrounded him during the season break. Aguilar came to Globalport’s rescue in the stretch as the Batang Pier nipped the powerhouse Petron Blaze Boosters, 94-92, despite playing their first PBA Commissioner’s Cup game without an import in the final 20 minutes at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Meralco didn’t suffer a power outage this time as it pushed Globalport to the cliff’s edge.
Drawing superlative efforts from its superstars and a career game from rookie Kelly Nabong, the Bolts tripped the Batang Pier, 101-92, Friday night to stay in the upper half of the PBA Philippine Cup standings at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
