Defending champion Canlubang, noted for its explosive finishing kick, assembled the best team output of 140 points in yesterday’s third and penultimate round to surge ominously on top by three points over Luisita in Seniors play of the 66th PAL Interclub golf championship here.
With a closer like no other, Canlubang Sunday completed a comeback for the ages after successfully wiping out a 12-point overnight deficit to extend its reign as PAL Interclub Senior champion.
Luisita lost some ground at Rancho Palos Verdes here yesterday but remained a solid championship bet with a 12-point cushion over bitter rival Canlubang going into the final round of Senior play in the PAL Interclub Sunday.
