Dallas seals playoff berth with win over Suns

Suns, Michael Beasley agree to terminate contract

The Suns and Beasley have reached an agreement to terminate the contract of the troubled power forward. The move on Tuesday Sept. 3, 2013 will cost the franchise $7 million, a $2 million savings from what Beasley would have been due had he simply been waived. It also represents a significant reduction in what the hit on the team's salary cap would have been. AP

Grant Hill retires from NBA after 19 seasons

Seven-time All-Star Grant Hill retired from the NBA on Saturday after 19 seasons, ending a career interrupted by injuries that included an Olympic gold medal.

The Los Angeles Clippers announced the news, which came as no surprise since Hill had been mulling his future after the team was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs. He had one season left on his contract.
