Pistons hand Pacers first home defeat of season

Josh Smith scored 30 points and Greg Monroe added 13 as the Detroit Pistons dealt the Indiana Pacers their first home defeat of the NBA season Monday, 101-96.

Spanish big man Pau Gasol scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while Kobe Bryant added 18 points to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a cliffhanger 98-97 NBA victory at Detroit on Sunday.
