Manchester United surged 15 points clear at the Premier League summit on Saturday, capitalizing on Manchester City losing at Everton by beating Reading to close in on a 20th English league title.

Ryan Giggs marked his 999th match as a professional by scoring in another age-defying, influential display to help Manchester United go provisionally 15 points clear at the top of the English Premier League on Saturday.

Chelsea leapfrogged Tottenham into third place in the Premier League on Saturday, profiting from two own goals by the same player to thrash Stoke 4-0 and dismantle English football’s only remaining unbeaten home record.
