‘No regrets’ for retiring Li Na at emotional farewell

Pioneering Chinese tennis star Li Na said Sunday she has “no regrets” about her decision to retire over persistent knee injuries, but told an emotional news conference she reached the decision only after thinking long and hard.

Puyol to leave Barcelona at end of season

The 35-year-old Puyol has spent his entire career with the Spanish league champions, having debuted in 1999. But he has made just 12 appearances this season after battling knee injuries in recent seasons. Puyol has been essential figure in Barcelona and Spain’s recent achievements, as the center back helped Spain win the 2010 World Cup two years after its European Championship triumph. Despite helping take Spain to the top of world football, Puyol has been the warrior defender center to Barcelona’s success, helping the club to 21 trophies including three Champions Leagues. AP

Barcelona defender Carles Puyol has decided to leave the club at the end of the season, preferring to take some time off after several injury-filled seasons and putting his football future in doubt.
