THERE are only two sides to it: those who believe that Barangay Ginebra is still the most popular team in the PBA and those who can’t accept it.

Maybe only a handful in that great crowd at Araneta Coliseum on Sunday could recall that great battle fought with an incredible never-say-die spirit by the lead figure on the battle court.

ROBERT Jaworski wiped away tears as “Winner,” his favorite Frank Sinatra song, was played.

The chant that was heard loudest in the ’90s, reveberated the Araneta Coliseum again Sunday night.

Alvin Patrimonio, the top local in the 1990s, and Billy Ray Bates, arguably the best import to ever play in the Philippine Basketball Association, will be enshrined in the league’s Hall of Fame in October.
