Arsenal beats holder Wigan to reach FA Cup final

Arsenal avoided Football Association Cup embarrassment against second-tier club Wigan on Saturday, coming from behind against the holder and winning a penalty shootout to reach the final where the London club will be looking to end a nine-year trophy drought.

Wigan’s Premier League survival hopes took a major hit by losing 3-2 at home to Swansea on Tuesday, while Manchester City secured its place in next season’s Champions League with a 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion.
