MANILA, Philippines- Despite the long delay caused by tropical storm Ondoy, La Salle and Ateneo resumed practice Thursday for their much-awaited finals showdown in this year's UAAP juniors championships.

According to Junior Archers mentor Boris Aldeguer, the team is still going on with their normal routine and not much additional game plan even though they will be facing the defending champion Blue Eaglets.

"We are still having our normal practice for our match and I am glad that no one is affected by the typhoon since most of my players live in the south," said Aldeguer.

The Blue Eaglets resumed practice in its bid for a back-to-back title starting Saturday.

Kiefer Ravena confirmed there were some members of the Ateneo affected by Ondoy whom he refused to name.

"We're back to our practice but yes, there were two of my teammates that were affected by Ondoy," said Ravena, adding he was able to make use of the time off to help his friends and relatives affected by the disaster.

Game 1 between La Salle-Ateneo starts Saturday 4p.m. at the Arena in San Juan.

The Adamson Lady Falcons and Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws also begin their finals series in ladies basketball at 2p.m.
