MANILA, Philippines—After four years together, Thirdy Ravena and the San-En Neophoenix are parting ways in the Japan B.League.

On Friday, Ravena expresses his heartfelt gratitude to San-En, which has been his home for the past few years.

“To the Neophoenix Community, thank you so much for welcoming this young kid from the Philippines with open arms. It’s been a great honor fighting for the club every single game,” wrote Ravena in an Instagram post.

“The last 4 years have been a roller-coaster ride from injuries, wins, losses, battles off the court and everything in between. I’ve most certainly learned a lot about basketball and life in this whole process.”

The Ateneo product had quite the stretch with Neophoenix since joining the club in 2020.

For one, it is with the Neophoenix where Ravena reached the career milestone of scoring 1,000 points.

So when it came time to decide on the next step of his career, Ravena said he became emotional about having to leave San-En to turn into a free agent.

“The thought of having to leave this place that I’ve called home these past few years gets me very emotional, but such is life. We keep moving forward!”

The explosive guard also acknowledged that while San-En didn’t really achieve its general championship dreams in the past few years, he’s still thankful for being part of the ride that got them a B.League Conference title not too long ago.

“Although we didn’t end exactly how we wanted to, I’m still happy that we were able to win the Conference title. It also wouldn’t be possible without the support of the Boosters, sponsors, staff, coaches, and teammates!”

As of writing, there’s still no further news on Ravena’s next destination.
