MANILA, Philippines — Team Philippines’ Olympians were one in celebrating Carlos Yulo’s historic gold medal finish in the Paris Olympics 2024 men’s artistic gymnastics floor exercise.

Congratulatory messages from athletes, celebrities, and sports fans poured in for the country’s second Olympic gold medalist after ruling the competition with a stunning performance, which earned 15.000 points on Saturday.

EJ Obiena, who qualified for the Olympic pole vault final for the second straight, took to Instagram to congratulate his fellow Team Philippines member.

Aleah Finnegan, one of the three Filipino-American gymnasts who competed in the Olympics for the first time in six decades, witnessed Yulo’s historic routine at Bercy Arena.

Emma Malabuyo and Levi Jung-Ruivivar, who saw action in women’s artistic gymnastics with Finnegan, also posted Instagram stories to celebrate Yulo’s success.

Boxer Eumir Marcial, who was eliminated in his campaign opener but is enjoying his time in Paris, posted a picture of him with Yulo, relishing the country’s first gold so far in the 2024 Olympic Games.

Filipino fencer Sam Catantan also reposted a couple of congratulatory posts about the gold medalist’s success.

Catantan and Marcial were also seen watching Aira Villegas’ quarterfinal win in one room posted by rower Joanie Delgaco.

Tokyo Olympics weightlifting champion Hidilyn Diaz, who delivered the country’s first gold in 97 years, was quick to congratulate Yulo, giving him meaningful advice and assurance that she’s always there for the 24-year-old gymnast.
