Dottie Ardina finished birdie-eagle for a third round three-under-par 69 on Friday to make a big jump on the women’s golf competition leaderboard of the Paris Olympics, still way out of the medal race but with a lot of pride given to the golfing population back home.

The pocket-sized Canlubang native actually rebounded from a double bogey 5 on the 16th to chalk up her best performance of the week and leave some of the game’s more established international stars behind. FULL STORY

MANILA, Philippines—Team Philippines’ Elreen Ando wants another crack at the Olympics.

After her valiant effort in the Paris Olympics 2024 women’s 59kg weightlifting competition, Ando set her intentions straight as she eyes a return to the grandest stage in Los Angeles for the 2028 Summer Games.

“I still need to go to LA. And I really need to work harder in training. My lifts are still not enough to win a medal,” said the Cebuana in Filipino in an interview with One Sports. FULL STORY

MANILA, Philippines—Team Philippines weightlifter Elreen Ando may have missed out on another medal in her second straight Olympics stint, but she went out with her head held high.

Ando salvaged a sixth-place finish in the Paris Olympics women's weightlifting 59kg competition after powering through to complete her final attempt in clean and jerk at 130 kilograms.

She set a new personal best by two kilograms and improved from seventh in the Tokyo Games. FULL STORY

MANILA, Philippines—Team Philippines’ Carlos Yulo has reached the ultimate dream and did it twice with two gold medals in the Paris Olympics 2024 men’s artistic gymnastics competition.

But make no mistakes about it, the 24-year-old gymnast is far from over, in terms of competing in the grandest sporting stage of the world.

In an interview with GMA’s 24 Oras, Yulo bared that while he’s on cloud nine after making history with the Philippines, the vision for Los Angeles is still very much present. FULL STORY

Bianca Pagdanganan is having a tournament to remember in Paris.

And after things went the way they did as far as the leaderboard was concerned in the second round of the women's individual golf competition on Thursday, the long-hitting Filipino has a chance to make her stint as one this country will never forget.

From saying that the Olympics is "just more of me representing the Philippines. It’s something bigger than yourself," Pagdanganan wheeled into serious medal contention after carving out a three-under-par 69 that placed her in joint seventh spot heading into Friday's third round. FULL STORY

MANILA, Philippines—The Philippines may be treated to a “world-class pole vault event” courtesy of its top athlete EJ Obiena.

After an unfortunate ending in the Paris Olympics 2024’s men’s pole vault competition, Obiena delivered some good news for the Filipino fans, especially those who seemed to have developed a deeper interest in the the sport in recent days.

During an online press conference, Obiena revealed that he is working on bringing an international pole vault competition here in the Philippines sanctioned by World Athletics, the world's governing body. FULL STORY

If there is any doubt that Dottie Ardina deserves playing in the Paris Olympics, the tiny bundle of talent on Thursday put them all to rest with a performance that spoke for itself.

The Canlubang, Laguna native, who has for years been trying to earn an LPGA Tour card after a decorated amateur career, put together a brilliant even-par 72 in the second round of women's golf competition to be in the middle of the 60-strong pack that is as talented as a field can get. FULL STORY

Bianca Pagdanganan gave the Philippine medal machine some life after shooting a three-under-par 69 in the second round of the women's golf competition on Thursday that catapulted the long-hitting Filipino into podium contention in the Paris Olympics at Le Golf National.

With first round leader Celine Boutier of France sputtering and world No. 1 Nelly Korda having a major hobble late in the back nine, Pagdanganan's 141 aggregate put her within five shots of the lead now being held by Switzerland's Morgane Metraux, who churned out an unbelievable front nine on the way to a 66.
