SCHEDULE: 2024 PBA Governors’ Cup elimination round

MANILA, Philippines—June Mar Fajardo picked up where he left off and asserted his dominance in San Miguel’s opening win over Phoenix in the PBA Governors’ Cup on Wednesday at Araneta Coliseum.

Fajardo showed why he’s an eight-time PBA MVP in leading the Beermen to victory.

“Oh Big Boy, what am I going to do without you?” San Miguel coach Jorge Gallent said in jest even before the post-game interview officially started.

“June Mar always plays hard. He goes to the basket and gives a hundred percent and that’s what’s good about him,” added the veteran tactician.

Playing in his 11th PBA season, Fajardo is showing no signs of slowing down, notching 37 points on a blistering 78 percent shooting from the field and 24 rebounds.

The 34-year-old Fajardo also made his presence felt on the defensive end with a pair of blocks and a couple of steals.

Fajardo and the Beermen face Blackwater next on Sunday at the same venue.
