Ateneo, NU start Shakey’s V-L title duel

An emerging power in the Shakey’s V-League, National U looks to cap a remarkable campaign with a title. Ateneo, on the other hand, wants to underline its status as one of the country’s premier squads with a third straight championship.

The Lady Eagles and Lady Bulldogs try to achieve their respective goals beginning today in their best-of-three title series for the Shakey’s V-League Season 10 First Conference at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

NU toppled Ateneo in straight-sets in the elimination round, but Lady Bulldogs coach Edjet Mabbayad said the victory counts for nothing in the title series.

For one, the Lady Eagles have beefed up their roster by acquiring Jeng Bualee after San Sebastian was eliminated, infusing more power and variation to the Ateneo attack. Cedelf P. Tupas
