V-League: Adamson gets 1-0 lead vs UST for 3rd place honors
MANILA, Philippines — Adamson pounced on University of Santo Tomas’ errors down the stretch to nab a 23-25, 25-23, 19-25, 25-23, 15-12 win on Thursday and a 1-0 lead in the battle for third at the 10th Shakey’s V-League First Conference.
The Lady Falcons are a victory away from bagging the third place honors in the best-of-three series.
After a 12-all deadlock in the fifth set, the Lady Falcons got two freebies off miscues by the Tigresses before Shiela Pineda finished it with a kill at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.

Maika Ortiz led the Tigresses with 18 points, guest player Aiza Maizo with 16 and Pamela Lastimosa with 15. Two others added double digits but in a losing effort.
