Wesley dominates Calgary International Chess Classic

Super Grandmaster Wesley So continued to make the Philippines proud by ruling the recent 2013 Calgary International Chess Classic in Calgary, Canada.

The 19-year-old So, taking a break from his studies at Webster University, beat Canadian International Master Richard Wang in the last round to tally a runaway total of 8.0 points.

So, who totes an Elo of 2705, wound up with seven wins and two draws, well ahead of GMs Robin Van Kampen of the Netherlands, Eric Hansen of Canada and Victor Mikhalevski of Israel, who posted 6.0 points each.

In the blitz competition,  So was even more dominant, with a perfect 9.0 finish.  Roy Luarca
