Warriors foil Archers; Lions, Chiefs triumph
ROI SUMANG buried two baskets in the last 53 seconds as University of the East pinned on La Salle its first loss with a 60-53 decision yesterday in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cupat Filoil Flying V Arena.
The Green Archers had threatened at 53-54 when Sumang hit a jumper and another one from mid-range to tow the Warriors to their fifth victory in seven games in Group B.
Earlier, Francis Abarcar shone in the final quarter to power San Beda to an 82-75 triumph over Perpetual Help, while Arellano rolled to an 83-67 drubbing of Jose Rizal University in separate Group A games.

The Chiefs, sustaining their surprisingly strong run with a 6-2 card, banked on the big games of James Forrester (21 points), Nard Pinto (16 points, seven assists and five rebounds) and Gio Jalalon (10 points, five boards, five assists and five steals).
