AFTER nailing a major title in the Philippine Golf Foundation Junior Masters, John Catalan is looking forward to turning pro next year.
Catalan, who ruled the Class A (15-17) category, said he plans to join more amateur contests this year to build his confidence before joining the pro Qualifying School for 2014.
“That’s my plan now after discussing it with my family,” said Catalan, a sophomore nursing student at the University of Santo Tomas.
Catalan’s father, Malabon/Navotas Chief Prosecutor Jorge Catalan Jr., and sister Jenine were present when he bagged the championship at Alabang GCC in Muntinlupa last Friday.
Catalan earned a slot in the Junior Masters when he ruled the qualifying tournament last month at Camp John Hay Golf Course in Baguio City.
