With the European football season already done, the Philippines has recalled some of its big guns for the international friendly against Hong Kong at Mongkok Stadium on Tuesday.
Europe-based Stephan Schrock, Neil Etheridge, Manny Ott and Paul Mulders have been included in the 18-man side of German coach Michael Weiss, who is expected to give 18-year-old Mike Ott his first appearance for the senior side.
Mike Ott, the younger brother of midfielder Manny, plays for 1860 Munich in the Under-19 Bundesliga where he is one of the top scorers with 16 goals last season.
“We can hopefully give him a chance against Hong Kong,” Weiss said of the young striker who has been considered one of the hottest young prospects in Germany.
“We’re fortunate we have quality and experienced available for our match against Hong Kong,” said Azkals manager Dan Palami.
Javier Patino, who has scored eight goals in eight matches for Thai Premier League powerhouse Buriram, will also be part of the squad together with experienced defenders Rob Gier and Juani Guirado.
