LYCEUM and Far Eastern University arranged a championship duel for the second straight year following contrasting semifinal wins in the women’s division of the Collegiate Athletic League recently.
The Lady Pirates, riding high on their unbeaten run, turned back the Lady Eagles, 57-46, to claim the first title berth.
Pulling off an upset, the Lady Tamaraws dumped University of Santo Tomas, 62-43, in the semifinal opener before overcoming the twice-to-beat edge of the No. 2 Tigresses with another 54-48 triumph.
The finals is set at 9 a.m. today at Trinity University gym.
In the men’s division, National University will shoot for a second straight crown against Olivarez College.
Olivarez absorbed its first loss against fourth-ranked Trinity, 79-90, in the semifinals. But the top seeds regained their composure and advanced with an 84-77 win.
The second-ranked Bulldogs, meanwhile, clinched a finals berth after downing Enderun, 59-47. Jasmine W. Payo
