MANILA, Philippines — James Younghusband scored the lone goal as the Philippines edged Hong Kong, 1-0, in a Fifa international friendly at Mongkok Stadium Tuesday in Hong Kong.
Younghusband scored on a header in the 33rd minute off a delivery from Stephan Schrock.
And while Younghusband provided the offense, goal keeper Neil Etheridge made sure the Azkals would hold on.
Etheridge denied a golden chance by Hong Kong on a penalty in the 69th minute.
Hong Kong was far from done as it became more of the threat as the match grew weary.
Fortunately for the Azkals side, Etheridge held his ground highlighted by several more saves in stoppage time.
