GLOBALPORT’S Japeth Aguilar, the high-leaping beanpole struggling to find a PBA home in his first three years as a pro, could be headed for Barangay Ginebra if a three-team, multiplayer deal is approved by the league.
The 6-foot-9 Aguilar is again the subject of trade rumors, which would supposedly send him to the Gin Kings for 6-foot-7 rookie Yousef Taha and future draft rights.
Globalport is also reportedly interested in getting Petron Blaze’s Jay Washington in exchange for Jason Deutschman.
The teams involved have yet to confirm the deal. However, what was completed yesterday was a pact that had Talk ‘N Text guard Jared Dillinger going to Barako Bull for Sean Anthony.
But Dillinger ultimately ended up at Meralco, which gave up Ronjay Buenafe and Gilbert Bulawan.
Meanwhile, Gilas-Pilipinas, which is in Lithuania to train the Fiba Asia Qualifying in Manila in August, took a 86-89 loss to LSU-Batai Sunday, its first setback in a three-game series against local clubs. The Philippines won its first two games, 81-76, against Klaipedos Neptunas, and 74-63 over Birstono Jazz-Diremta.
