No rest on Manny’s day off

10:21 AM November 08, 2010

HOLLYWOOD—A typical day off for Manny Pacquiao will wear down an ordinary person.

Sunday here (Monday in Manila) for the pound-for-pound king was supposed to have been spent lying in bed and resting for a coming fight which he himself describes as his “most difficult ever.”

Instead, Pacquiao jogged with his usual coterie of friends at the hilly, winding Pan Pacific Park.

Showered and refreshed, he then heard Mass at the Christ the King Parish, accompanied by his wife Jinkee, mother Dionisia and members of Team Pacquiao.

In the afternoon, Pacquiao attended a sendoff party tendered for him by the Filipino community here, before proceeding to the Cascades Studio in Sta. Monica to practice his vocal chords with his MP band.

The Filipino boxing superstar is to wake up early Monday for his usual morning run and then work out, including a thousand sit-ups, at the Wild Card Gym.
