TREAT Huey and Dominic Inglot scrambled their way past a German pair Saturday to reach the Wimbledon men’s doubles third round against American top seeds and two-time champions Bob and Mike Bryan.
Huey, the only Filipino competing in the prestigious Grand Slam event, and British partner Inglot downed Andre Begemann and Martin Emmrich, 6-3, 6-7 (2), 7-5, 7-6 (3), at Court No. 10.
But standing in their way to a breakthrough quarterfinal stitnt are the Bryan twins, the 2006 and 2011 champs who advanced with a 6-3, 7-5, 6-4 win over David Marrera of Spain and Andreas Seppi of Italy.
They will collide on Court 2 on Monday.
The 27-year-old Huey, the country’s top Davis Cupper, and Polish partner Jerzy Janowicz lost against the Bryans in the finals of the BNP Paribas Indian Wells. Marc Anthony Reyes
